The Altra Lingua Method
When learning a foreign language in school there is a very heavy focus on grammar and writing. This is how foreign language is traditionally taught within the formal education system. While both of these are very important, they leave students extremely lacking in conversational ability and practical knowledge of the language. At Altra Lingua, we apply a more modern approach to the teaching and learning process by placing a greater amount of emphasis on the conversational aspect of language, while also using traditional methods of reading, writing and grammar study. To achieve fluency and mastery of a language, you must speak it.
When we learn a language as children, it is not through academic study, but through listening and forming connections. This is what we aim to emulate at Altra Lingua. Our mother-tongue instructors use practical conversation to accelerate the learning process and equip students with the knowledge and confidence to achieve their language speaking goals.
